While the following contains a selection of memorable cases that the lawyer at Purser Law have litigated over their careers, this is by no means a complete listing of all cases handled by Purser Law. Cases have been initialized to protect the identity of the clients.

R v R.C., 2024 NWTSC (Unreported)

After a grueling week-long trial in Yellowknife, and after nearly two years of having to suffer with the stigma of charges, Stacey successfully convinced a jury of his peers to acquit her client of sexual assault.

R v J.K., 2024 CCRB (Unreported)

After being under the supervision of the Alberta Review Board for nine-years, following a finding that he was Not Criminally Responsible for attempting to murder his mother, Stacey obtained an absolute discharge for her client.

R v J.W., 2024 ABPC (Unreported)

After pointing out pieces of evidence that pointed to her clients innocence, Cateline convinced the Crown to stay (i.e. drop) charges of impaired driving causing death against her client.

R v J.P., 2024 ABPC (Unreported)

Cateline successfully argued against a Crown application to commit the accused for trial in Superior Court after the client failed to appear at a previous preliminary inquiry date, allowing her client to book a second preliminary inquiry date.

R v M.N., 2023 ABKB 567

Cateline successfully argued for a substituted verdict of acquittal on appeal, saving the client the stress and expense of a retrial, based on a complex evidentiary issue in an alleged parental child abduction case.

R v A.F., 2023 ABKB (Unreported)

After filing an application to cross-examine the Complainant on text messages that were inconsistent with her previous version of events, the Crown stayed (i.e., dropped) charges of sexual assault against our client, saving him the stress of a Jury Trial.

R v J.W., 2023 ABKB 101

After successfully arguing that our clients confession was not voluntary, the Crown called no evidence and our client was acquitted (i.e., found not guilty) of first-degree murder.

R. v A.H., 2023 ABKB (Unreported)

After retaining two defence experts, a medical examiner and DNA analyst, to defend against the case, the Crown stayed (i.e., dropped) charges of second-degree murder against Stacey and Cateline's client.

R v S.H., 2022 ABCA 411

After initially having been denied bail pending appeal by a single justice of the ABCA, Stacey’s client was released following a rare Appellate Court Bail Review proceeding before 3 Judges of the Court of Appeal.

R v A.K., 2022 ABQB (Unreported)

After having successfully defended against a Crown Pre-Trial Application to admit prejudicial evidence against her client, Stacey and Cateline’s client was acquitted of sexual assault.

R v B.M., 2022 ABQB (Unreported)

After taking over a sentencing case for a colleague, Stacey was able to convince the Crown to reduce their initial sentencing position from 18 years to 11 years imprisonment.

R v C.K., 2022 ABPC (Unreported)

Despite the theft of thousands of dollars of narcotics from her employer, Stacey’s client received a Conditional Discharge, saving her from a criminal record and allowing her to return to work.
